How to measure a fence for a windscreen. First, make a rough sketch of the entire area that you need to measure for screens. Record your measurements on this sketch. The manufacturer will mark each windscreen with a size when they ship it to you and you can use your sketch to hang your screens quickly and easily. Next, using a good quality tape measure place your tape hook against the tension bar of your fence (not the fence post) and pull you tape as tight as you can across the area you need to measure. This will be your linear foot measurement for that area. For example: On a 6 foot high fence your would supply our office with a measurement reading 55'10" X 6'. It is better not to exceed a 60' in length piece as it will be less difficult to hang. Standard fences are 6' and 9'. If you have an area that is a different height measure from the top of the fence to the bottom for height and tension bar to tension bar for width. If you have a 1/2" measurement it is better to round down. A windscreen that is too long for the fence is an eyesore. Once you compile your measurements email your list along with your zip code and windscreen choice and we will email you a quote. |
