Tennis nets are one of the most important pieces of tennis court equipment; you can't really play without them. It's extremely helpful if you're able to install the strong netting yourself, so here is a brief guide to help you do just that.

  1. The first step to installing tennis court nets is to install the center pipe anchor and making sure the anchor is installed flush with the surface. You should also make sure the pin is parallel to the net line so you can avoid twisting the center strap.

  2. Next, you can begin installing your tennis nets by connected the loop end of the net cable to the post cable hook on the side of the post without a reel.
    • If you're installing your net onto an internal wind post, you're probably going to have to cut the entire loop and any excess cable from the other end of the net cable. You will also have to remove the vinyl coating near the place where the cable will be attached to the winder (depending on which internal wind post you're installing).
    • If you're installing your net onto an external wind post, connect one loop end of the net cable to the post cable hook on the dead end post. Take the other cable loop and hook it onto the pin on the crank assembly and begin winding.
  3. Fit the side stakes into the side pockets if available.

  4. Install the lacing cord at each end by making a two-inch knotted loop on one end of the lacing cord. Then, run the other end through both grommets in the headband and around the post, through the two-inch loop and back around the post in the opposite direction. Continue wrapping the cord around the post, through the lacing bars, and through the grommets on the side band. While you're doing that, apply equal pressure as you wrap. Finally, tie off the cord at the bottom of the post and report for the other post. Then, install the center strap and adjust it to get a 36-inch height at the center of the strong netting.

  5. When you're done, the net should be fully extended so that it completely fills the space between the posts. The height at the center should be three feet, and the height at the posts should be three-feet-six-inches off the ground.

During the offseason, remove your strong netting, or at least loosen the net cable and the center strap. It's best to remove the net posts too, as well as plug the open net post sleeves with covers to prevent moisture and dirt from getting in the post sleeves.

Your tennis net should be placed three feet, or 0.914 meters, outside of the court. Check out our inventory today to get your tennis court netting, and follow this guide so you can install it yourself!
